Bank of Russia publishes Summary of the Key Rate Discussion following meeting on 22 March 2024
The publication covers the main aspects of the discussion about the economic situation and inflation, monetary and external conditions, and alternatives to the key rate decision.
When preparing the decision, the participants in the discussion only considered keeping the key rate unchanged at 16.0% per annum. As in February, they discussed in detail a possible future key rate path and also exchanged the views on conditions that might require a reduction or increase in the key rate. The participants voiced a common opinion that, in the current situation, tight monetary conditions in the economy should be maintained for long.
Please note that the Summary of the Key Rate Discussion and the Commentary on the Medium-term Forecast following the next core meeting on the key rate on 26 April 2024 will be published on May 13 due to the holidays and weekends. The Calendar of key rate decisions has been updated accordingly.
