Bank of Russia assigns central counterparty status and issues banking licence to NFI CCP RDC (JSC)

Effective 25 December 2020, the Bank of Russia assigns1 central counterparty status and issues a banking licence to Nonbank Financial Institution — Central Counterparty RDC (Joint-stock Company), hereinafter referred to as NFI CCP RDC (JSC), with its clearing licence having been reissued.

The assigning of central counterparty status to NFI CCP RDC (JSC) was executed pursuant to transitional provisions of Federal Law No. 403-FZ2, dated 29 December 2015, covering legal entities that had not been credit institutions and acted as central counterparties before the enactment date of this law.

As of the enactment date of Federal Law No. 403-FZ, dated 29 December 2015, the following entities acted as central counterparties:

  • Bank National Clearing Centre (Joint-stock Company)
  • Joint-stock Company Clearing Centre MFB
  • Joint-stock Company NFI CCP RDC.

This decision makes Joint-stock Company NFI CCP RDC the third and the last entity to receive Bank of Russia-assigned non-bank credit institution — central counterparty status in line with the above federal law.
