The animated film ‘The Golden Antelope’ was made in 1954 by director Lev Atamanov based on Indian folktales. It is a beautiful morality tale about a greedy rajah and the friendship between an orphan peasant boy and a magical antelope that could strike gold with its hoof. The film was made by using the retroscoping technique that involves frame-by-frame painting over motion picture footage with real actors and decorations. The film won many international awards, including at the Cannes Film Festival.

The obverse and the reverse of the coin have a relief rim around the circumference.
The obverse of the coin features a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and the inscriptions ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin ‘3 РУБЛЯ’ (3 RUBLES), the year of issue ‘2026 г.’ (2026), the chemical symbol of the metal according to Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Elements, fineness, the Saint Petersburg Mint trademark, and fine metal content.
The reverse of the coin features a coloured image of the characters from the animated film ‘The Golden Antelope’ with the relief inscription ‘ЗОЛОТАЯ АНТИЛОПА’ (THE GOLDEN ANTELOPE) at the upper left around the circumference. Background images are laser treated for matte finishing.
The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The coin is minted in proof quality.

The reverse of:
– the nickel-plated steel coin features a relief image of the characters from the animated film ‘The Golden Antelope’ and the inscription ‘ЗОЛОТАЯ АНТИЛОПА’ (THE GOLDEN ANTELOPE) at the upper left around the circumference; and
