Saint George the Victorious in gold

On 2 December 2024, the Bank of Russia issues gold investment coins ‘Saint George the Victorious’ in the following denomination:

— 200-ruble coins (Catalogue No. 5219-0033), and

— 10,000-ruble coins (Catalogue No. 5221-0036).

The 200-ruble gold investment coins (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 999/1,000) and the 10,000-ruble gold investment coins (fine metal content 1,000.0 g, fineness 999/1,000) have a round shape and are 33.0 mm and 100.0 mm in diameter, respectively.

The obverse and the reverse of the coins have a relief rim around the circumference.

The obverse of the coins features a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and the inscriptions ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins ‘200 РУБЛЕЙ’ (200 RUBLES), ‘10000 РУБЛЕЙ’ (10,000 RUBLES), the year of issue ‘2024 г.’ (2024), the chemical symbol of the metal according to Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Elements, fineness, the mint trademark, and fine metal content. The obverse of the 10,000-ruble coin features the serial number of the coin and the sign ‘№’ (No.).

The reverse of the coins features a relief image of Saint George the Victorious on horseback slaying a dragon with a spear.

The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The coins are minted in uncirculated quality.

The mintage of:

— 200-ruble coins: up to 100.0 thousand pcs; and

— 10,000-ruble coins: up to 0.1 thousand pcs.

The new coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation and are mandatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
