Bank of Russia coins in souvenir set

On 2 December 2024, the Bank of Russia issues a numismatic coin set in souvenir packaging consisting of:

— 1- and 5-copeck cupronickel plated steel coins,

— 10- and 50-copeck brass plated steel coins,

— 1-, 2-, and 5-ruble nickel plated steel coins, and

— a 10-ruble brass plated steel coin.

The 1-copeck coin has a round shape and is 15.5 mm in diameter, the 5-copeck, 10-copeck, and 50-copeck coins are 18.5 mm, 17.5 mm, and 19.5 mm in diameter, respectively; the 1-ruble, 2-ruble, 5-ruble, and 10-ruble coins are 20.5 mm, 23.0 mm, 25.0 mm, and 22.0 mm in diameter, respectively.

The obverse and the reverse of the coins have a relief rim around the circumference.

The edge of the 1-, 5-, 10-, and 50-copeck coins is smooth, that of the 1-ruble coin is corrugated, and that of the 2-, 5-, and 10-ruble coins is intermittently corrugated.

The obverse of:

— the 1-, 5-, 10-, and 50-copeck coins features a relief image of Saint George the Victorious on horseback slaying a dragon with a spear with the inscription ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA) and the date of issue ‘2024’ around the circumference and the letters S-P (Saint Petersburg) denoting the mint on the right;

— the 1-, 2-, 5-, and 10-ruble coins features a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, the semicircular inscription above it along the rim ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) framed with paired diamonds on both sides, the Saint Petersburg Mint trademark on the right, and the two-line inscription in the centre of the coins under the coat of arms ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), and the year of issue ‘2024’ (2024).

The reverse of:

— the 1-, 5-, 10-, and 50-copeck coins features a two-line inscription in the centre denoting the coins’ denominations ‘1 КОПЕЙКА’ (1 COPECK), ‘5 КОПЕЕК’ (5 COPECKS), ‘10 КОПЕЕК’ (10 COPECKS), and ‘50 КОПЕЕК’ ( 50 COPECKS), respectively, with a stylised image of branches of a plant at the bottom;

— the 1-, 2-, and 5-ruble coins features a two-line inscription in the centre denoting the coins’ denominations ‘1 РУБЛЬ’ (1 RUBLE), ‘2 РУБЛЯ’ (2 RUBLES), and ‘5 РУБЛЕЙ’ (5 RUBLES), respectively, with a stylised image of branches of a plant on the left and on the right;

— the 10-ruble coin features a two-line inscription in the centre denoting the coin’s denomination ‘10 РУБЛЕЙ’ (10 RUBLES) against the background of a field containing vertical lines, with a stylised image of branches of a plant on the left and on the right. The figure ‘0’ features a security element inside in the form of the figure ‘10’ and the inscription ‘РУБ’ (RUB) visible at various viewing angles to the coin surface.

The coins are mined in brilliant uncirculated quality.

The mintage of the set is 35.0 thousand pcs.

The coins in the numismatic set are legal tender of the Russian Federation and are mandatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
