Cash Circulation Department Director Alexander Lakhtikov retires

On 27 January 2023, Director of the Cash Circulation Department Alexander Lakhtikov retires from the Bank of Russia.

Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia Sergey Belov noted: ‘Alexander Lakhtikov joined the Bank of Russia nearly 30 years ago. During a significant part of his career, he was engaged in the evolution of the security system and information protection. Regardless of the area of his work, Alexander Lakhtikov always managed to achieve great results. Considering his experience and knowledge of the regional branches, he was transferred to the human resources department of the Bank of Russia. Over the last five years, the Cash Circulation Department team headed by Alexander Lakhtikov was able to provide sufficient cash to the economy during the most challenging periods. A major milestone was the preparation of the Guidelines for Cash Circulation Development. He was among the initiators of a large-scale project to upgrade Bank of Russia banknotes. Mr Lakhtikov is a highly competent specialist who is capable of working in extreme situations while staying calm and collected.’
