On expanding the composition of published statistical data
With the objective of providing additional analytical tools for its information users, the Bank of Russia is expanding the composition of published statistical data on Russia’s direct investment. In addition to direct investment data presently disseminated on the official web-site of the Bank of Russia which are compiled on the basis of standard components of balance of payments and international investment position of the Russian Federation, the Bank of Russia is starting to publish data on inward and outward direct investment of the Russian Federation which are compiled based on the direction of control and influence (according to directional principle of investment). Presentation of such data is an integral part of the standard (core) set of international direct investment indicators stipulated in the OECD Bechmark Definition of Foreign Direct Investment (4th Edition, 2008).
Statistical data on inward (outward) direct investment of the Russian Federation by partner country and by instrument as well as methodological comments to the data are posted on the official web-site of the Bank of Russia in the Statistics directory.
