Bank of Russia issues commemorative coins of precious metal

On 27 April 2020, the Bank of Russia will issue the following commemorative coins:

— a silver 3-ruble coin of the series: ‘75th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945’;

— a silver 3-ruble coin ‘Soviet Soldier Monument in Rzhev’.

The silver 3-ruble coins (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925) have a round shape and are 39.0 mm in diameter.

The obverse and the reverse of the coins have a relief rim along the circumference.

The obverse of the coin features a relief image of the national emblem of the Russian Federation and the inscriptions ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) and ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), the coin denomination ‘3 РУБЛЯ’ (3 RUBLES), the year of issue ‘2020 г.’ (2020), the chemical symbol of the metal according to Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Elements, fineness, the St. Petersburg Mint trademark, and fine metal content.

The reverse:

— of the 3-ruble coin of the series ‘75th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the 1941–1945 Great Patriotic War’ (Catalogue No. 5111–0417) bears the coloured image of the star of one of the towers of the Moscow Kremlin and the ribbon of the medal ‘For the Victory over Germany in the 1941–1945 Great Patriotic War’ against the background of the images of festive fireworks and the Moscow skyline, laser treated for matte finishing; the base of the star and the mesh-like partitions are made in gold-plating technique; at the top there is an inscription along the circumference: ‘75-ЛЕТИЕ ПОБЕДЫ’ (75th ANNIVERSARY OF THE VICTORY).

The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The coin is minted in proof quality.

The mintage of the coin is 7.0 thousand pcs;

— the 3-ruble coin ‘Soviet Soldier Monument in Rzhev’ (Catalogue No. 5111–0418) features a relief image of the monument to the Soviet soldier — the central part of the memorial complex in commemoration of all soldiers of the Great Patriotic War at the venue of the gory battles near Rzhev in 1942–1943, against the background of the silhouettes of flying cranes, laser treated for matte finishing; along the circumference there is an inscription: ‘РЖЕВСКИЙ МЕМОРИАЛ СОВЕТСКОМУ СОЛДАТУ’ (SOVIET SOLDIER MONUMENT IN RZHEV).

The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The coin is minted in proof quality.

The mintage of the coin is 3.0 thousand pcs.

The new coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation and are mandatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
