On establishing the Actuarial Activity Board

Pursuant to the provisions of Articles 8 and 17 of Federal Law No. 293-FZ, dated 2 November 2013, ‘On the Actuarial Activities in the Russian Federation’, the Bank of Russia established the Actuarial Activity Board (hereinafter, the Board) and approved a Regulation on the Board and its membership.

The Board permanently functions under the Bank of Russia, coordinates the activity of actuary self-regulatory organisations and ensures their cooperation with the government and the Bank of Russia.

The membership of the Board includes representatives of actuary self-regulatory organisations, academic and educational community, independent experts and other individuals not representing any actuary self-regulatory organisations, as well as representatives of the Russian Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Russia.

The Board is primarily responsible for developing and approving federal actuarial standards, advising to the Bank of Russia and the federal executive authorities on the actuarial activity, preparing proposals for professional training of actuaries and responsible actuaries, and considering requests from actuary self-regulatory organisations.
