On cancelling banking licence of credit institution GPB-Mortgage

By its Order No. OD-456, dated 21 February 2017, the Bank of Russia cancelled the banking licence of the Moscow-based credit institution Bank GPB-Mortgage (Joint-Stock Company) or Bank GPB-Mortgage (JSC) (Registration No. 2403) from 21 February 2017.

The Bank of Russia cancelled the banking licence of Bank GPB-Mortgage (JSC) pursuant to Article 23 of the Federal Law ‘On Banks and Banking Activities’ following the credit institution authorised body’s decision to terminate its activity through voluntary liquidation in accordance with Article 61 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation and the submission of the respective application to the Bank of Russia.

Proceeding from data reported by Bank GPB-Mortgage (JSC), the credit institution has enough assets to satisfy creditors’ claims.

In compliance with Article 62 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation and Article 21 of the Federal Law ‘On Joint-stock Companies’, a liquidation commission will be appointed to Bank GPB-Mortgage (JSC).

According to reporting data, as of 1 February 2017, Bank GPB-Mortgage (JSC) ranked 292nd in the Russian banking system in terms of assets.
