On meeting of Russian-Turkish Working Group on Financial and Banking Cooperation

During the meeting, representatives of the Russian and Turkish banking community discussed the current level of cooperation between the banking systems of the two countries, measures to expand correspondent relations and increase the use of national currencies in bilateral trade settlements, including a possibility of trading in the currency pair of Russian ruble/Turkish lira (RUB/TRY) on the Moscow Exchange, and cooperation between the two countries’ payment card systems.
The parties agreed to revise the Memorandum of Understanding between the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the Central bank of Turkey effective since 1997 with due account of new realities.
