On meeting of Russian-Turkish working group on financial and banking cooperation
Representatives of the Bank of Russia and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey held the 5th meeting of the Russian-Turkish Working Group on Financial and Banking Cooperation under the Joint Intergovernmental Russian-Turkish Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Russian and Turkish ministries, agencies and credit institutions.
The meeting discussed the current economic conditions and development of banking sector of the two countries. The priority was given to the following issues: existing barriers and complications in setting up foreign trade contracts in national currencies and effecting payments under these contracts, possible incentives for settlements in national currencies, the activity of the Risk Centre established by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, and current statistic discrepancies in the amounts of settlements in national currencies.
The parties agreed to hold the 6th meeting of the Russian-Turkish Working Group on Financial and Banking Cooperation in Russia in 2015.
