Russia’s International Reserves
The External and Public Relations Department of the Bank of Russia informs that the volume of the international reserves of the Russian Federation amounted to $453.5 billion as of November 14, 2008 against $475.4 billion as of November 7, 2008.
In order to meet the requests the Department informs that the international reserves excludes the assets of the Bank of Russia, being deposited with Vneshekonombank in compliance with the Federal Law on additional measures for preserving stability of the financial system of the Russian Federation as of October 13, 2008, as well as other assets of the Bank of Russia, denominated in foreign currency, that are held on accounts in resident banks. Along with the return of the appropriate assets they will be restored in the international reserves.
