The External and Public Relations Department of the Bank of Russia informs that the volume of the international reserves of the Russian Federation amounted to $484.6 billion as of October 31, 2008.
For purposes of improving the international reserves statistics and bringing it in line with international practices, the assets of the Bank of Russia, held on accounts in nonresident subsidiaries of Russian banks, have been included in the international reserves.
