Bank of Russia issues commemorative coins

On 27 October and on 1 December 2016, the Bank of Russia issues five commemorative coins made of precious metals.

On 27 October, the following coins are issued: a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 rubles and a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 rubles, and on 1 December, a silver proof coin in denomination of 100 rubles and gold proof coins in denomination of 10,000 rubles, 50,000 rubles, devoted to 175th anniversary of the savings business in Russia.

The reverse side of the coins bears fragments of gravures, promotional and advertising posters, reflecting different stages of the savings business development in Russia:

the silver proof coin in denomination of 3 rubles bears the image of a hand holding a payment card against the background of a savings bankbook; the mintage of the coin is 3,500 pieces;

 

the silver proof coin in denomination of 100 rubles bears the fragment of a state loan bond; the mintage of the coin is 170 pieces;

 

the gold proof coin in denomination of 50 rubles bears the fragment of a poster with the image of a machine operator in a tractor; the mintage of the coin is 700 pieces;

 

the gold proof coin in denomination of 10,000 rubles bears the fragment of a poster with the image of two individuals holding savings bankbooks against the background of a building; the mintage of the coin is 35 pieces;

 

the gold proof coin in denomination of 50,000 rubles bears the fragment of a gravure with the image of the Board of Trustees building of the Moscow foundling hospital in Solyanka street in Moscow where the first Moscow savings bank was opened; the mintage of the coin is 15 pieces.

 

On the reverse side of the coins, there are inscriptions along the circumference: “СБЕРЕГАТЕЛЬНОЕ ДЕЛО В РОССИИ” (SAVINGS BUSINESS IN RUSSIA) on top, “175 ЛЕТ” (175 YEARS) at the bottom.
