Long-awaited data: regulator to disclose information on market transactions
The Bank of Russia is considering disclosing anonymised data on market transactions obtained from reports submitted by supervised organisations. The regulator has published the relevant concept to discuss with market participants the information they would find useful as well as their preferred format and channels for accessing these data.
There are currently information asymmetries in the market, with some exchange transaction data released in an aggregated format and some provided on a paid basis. Information on over-the-counter transactions, meanwhile, lacks transparency and is fragmented.
By publishing up-to-date information, the regulator will ensure equal access to it for all market participants and enable them to use these data in creating various analytical products. In disclosing this information, the Bank of Russia will maintain confidentiality. For example, it may use special tagging to identify related transactions.
The Bank of Russia already publishes data on over-the-counter ruble-denominated interest rate swaps. Following discussions with market participants, the regulator may develop uniform approaches and expand the scope of disclosed information.
Please send your feedback on the Bank of Russia Concept for Market Data Publication through 1 December 2026.
