Prices grow moderately in most regions in September
Prices for a wide range of non-food goods increased only slightly in the regions. Fuel prices continued to grow, but much more slowly than in June–July. Their dynamics varied across regions, with prices decreasing or remaining unchanged in one third of them. Prices for electronics rose due to a weaker ruble and higher prices for components in the global market.
Nationwide, food prices stayed unchanged over the month. Fruit and vegetables from the new harvest continued to become cheaper. Sugar prices declined as supply expanded with the start of the processing of newly harvested sugar beet. By contrast, egg prices increased noticeably due to a seasonal rise in demand. Prices also rose for some types of cereals and fish products on the back of lower supply.
Services prices increased notably in most regions. As usual, prices for education services rose, but the increase this September was sharper than was typical for the month. Domestic tourism continued to become cheaper.
