The amount of suspicious transactions to withdraw cash and siphon off funds abroad totalled ₽20.9 billion over the first six months of 2026 vs ₽32 billion over the same period last year.

The most notable decline was recorded in the amount of cash-outs in the banking sector, which more than halved to ₽7.4 billion. Concurrently, the volume of similar transactions outside the banking sector changed only slightly, equalling ₽8 billion. Suspicious transactions to siphon off funds abroad were down by 35% (to ₽5.5 billion).

Created in 2022, the Know Your Customer Platform (KYC Platform) helps decrease the amount of suspicious transactions by providing data for anti-money laundering procedures. Over the four years of the KYC Platform’s operation, credit institutions have restricted transactions on accounts of approximately 190,000 bad-faith entities with a high risk level.

The number of suspicious transactions conducted by money mules, which facilitate settlements for illegal cryptocurrency exchanges and online casinos, continued to decline. Furthermore, the amount of such transactions went down by a third in 2026 H1.
