Statistics on crowdfunding market to be expanded
The Bank of Russia has begun to publish statistics on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) raising funds by issuing shares on investment platforms. These statistics will help improve the assessment of the dynamics and development prospects of the crowdfunding market. The regulator will release these data quarterly.
In 2026 H1, the number of issuers fell by 9% year on year, and the number of companies entering the equity market was 61. Investment raised by businesses totalled ₽2.1 billion, down 45% year on year. This accounts for 13% of total funds raised by SMEs on investment platforms.
Geographically, shares were most frequently offered by companies from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, the Krasnodar Territory, and the Smolensk Region. By sector, information technology and computer service companies accounted for more than half of total investment.
