Inflation expectations of households decrease in August, while those of businesses rise

According to InFOM’s survey, one-year-ahead inflation expectations of households were 13.7% in August compared to 14.7% in July. Inflation expectations declined among respondents both with and without savings. Despite the decline, inflation expectations remain elevated.

Companies’ price expectations picked up.

The consumer sentiment index, reflecting the respondents’ current estimates and expectations regarding their personal wealth, the economy, and the consumer market situation, was up in August after plummeting in July.
