In 2026 Q2, investors paid ₽73 billion into individual investment accounts (IIA), recording a 13% increase quarter on quarter and a two-fold rise year on year.

Investors were primarily buying OFZs and bonds of highly-rated Russian issuers. Therefore, the proportion of debt securities in the IIA holders’ portfolios increased from 45% to 48% to hit a record high since 2016. By the end of the quarter, assets in these accounts totalled ₽993 billion.

Between April and June, investors opened 163,000 IIAs, bringing their total number to 6.6 million. Detailed IIA market statistics are available on the Bank of Russia website. The regulator will continue releasing these statistics on a quarterly basis.

Please note that the quarterly publication Individual Investment Accounts will now be released once a year. Its next issue will be published following the end of 2026.
