Monitoring businesses: growth of business activity remains moderate

The Bank of Russia’s Business Climate Index (BCI) dropped to 1.1 p in June from 1.7 p a month before. As compared to May, companies’ current demand and output estimates improved slightly, whereas their expectations for the next three months became more modest.
In June, businesses’ price expectations were declining for the fifth month in a row, dropping below the 2021–2022 range overall.
The Bank of Russia conducted its first survey of companies on their use of artificial intelligence (AI), which shows that AI technologies are applied by one in seven enterprises across the economy, with service companies leading in AI adoption.
