New commemorative coins issued

The Bank of Russia issues into circulation three commemorative silver coins in 2-ruble denomination of the series Red Data Book'. The reverse sides of the coins feature images of „МАНУЛ” (MANUL) (in Russia, this wildcat inhabits the Transbaikal region, Tyva, the Altai and the Chita Regions), „КРАСНЫЙ КОРШУН” (RED KITE) (it inhabits the Kaliningrad and Pskov Regions, and the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus), and „АЛКИНОЙ” (BYASA ALCINOUS) (this butterfly can be found in Primorye). The mintage of the coins is 7,000 pieces of each design.

 

Additionally, a 3-ruble silver coin is issued as part of the series ‘The World Ice Hockey Championship 2016’. The reverse side of the coin bears the relief image of a hockey player against the background of parallels and meridians. The mintage of the coin is 5,000 pieces.

Another new 3-ruble silver coin is devoted to Russia — ASEAN summit to be held in Sochi in May 2016. The reverse of the coin features the coloured logo of the summit. The mintage of the coin is 2,000 pieces.
