Bank of Russia holds Eurasian Roundtable in Washington
The Bank of Russia organised the second Eurasian Roundtable to gather together representatives of the central banks, financial regulators, and ministries of finance of the Eurasian region, as well as the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development to discuss pertinent issues of macroeconomics and financial markets. The event was held at the venue of the 2026 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Washington.
The participants gave their assessments of the state of the national economies, paying particular attention to the situation in the labour market. Other topics of the deliberations included the effects of modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence, on the financial markets of the Eurasian economies.
The first Eurasian Roundtable took place during the 2025 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.
This format of meetings has proven to be efficient, and therefore, representatives of the financial regulators supported the idea to continue cooperation and expressed their interest in expanding the roundtable’s agenda and the list of participants.
