IIA contributions quadruple: 2025 results

News

In 2025, the net inflow of funds into individual investment accounts (IIAs) amounted to ₽230 billion, which exceeds last year’s level by a factor of 3.7.

The bulk of the contributions, i.e. ₽103 billion, were concentrated in October–December, making the highest quarterly figure since the instrument was launched in 2015. Investors were choosing IIAs amid a gradual decline in returns on bank deposits.

The total number of IIAs reached 6.4 million, with type 3 IIAs making up 20% of this quantity. The latter were proliferating due to the conclusion of new agreements, rather than the conversion of type 1 and type 2 IIAs.

Investors’ contributions and a positive revaluation of Russian securities significantly pushed up the value of IIA portfolios. Assets in IIAs increased almost 1.5 times over the year, reaching ₽888 billion. As the key rate was gradually declining, investors were increasingly purchasing ruble bonds, choosing predominantly corporate bonds. The share of debt assets in the total portfolio doubled, reaching 42%. Investments in shares of Russian companies were also rising, albeit more slowly.
