Improving collection of credit institutions’ reporting: consultation paper

3 October 2025
News

The regulator proposes that information submitted to the Bank of Russia by credit institutions should be arranged in datasets based on a single model, rather than in reporting forms.

Individual types of detailed data can be collected in accordance with the procedure whereby the bulk of the information is gathered on a one-off basis, with only updated information provided afterwards.

The promising methods of prompt big data processing, which the regulator considers, include providing the Bank of Russia with direct access to credit institutions’ data marts in real time.

The approaches described in the report Improving Collection of Credit Institutions’ Reporting will help reduce the frequency of changes made to the reporting and the number of the Bank of Russia’s requests and substantially enhance the analytical potential and quality of data and the speed of their delivery.

The Bank of Russia welcomes answers to the questions raised in the consultation paper as well as comments and suggestions through 31 October 2025.

Changes to approaches to the collection of credit institutions’ data will also be discussed at the Forum of Innovative Financial Technologies Finopolis to be held from 8 to 10 October 2025.
