Suspicious transactions go down by 12% in 2025 H1
These dynamics resulted mainly from the decline in the amount of illegal cash-out transactions in the banking sector by 19% to ₽15.9 billion.
The amount of cash-out transactions performed using companies’ and individual entrepreneurs’ payment cards and individuals’ accounts dropped by more than 50% to ₽1.7 billion and by 11% to ₽14.2 billion, respectively.
In 2025 H1, the amount of suspicious transactions having signs of money withdrawal abroad remained unchanged year on year. It was minimum during the entire monitoring period, totalling ₽8.5 billion.
The described downward trend is driven by the use of the Know Your Customer Platform (KYC Platform). Since the platform was established three years ago, the information it provides has helped banks restrict transactions in accounts of more than 178,000 unscrupulous companies and individual entrepreneurs characterised by a high risk level. Low-risk ones account for 97.3% of all business entities included in the KYC Platform. There is strong demand for the Bank of Russia’s service that helps check the risk level of companies on the regulator’s website and thus assess counterparties. The service was launched almost a year ago and has been used more than 500,000 times since then.
