Bank of Russia sets up register of administrators of financial and commodity indices
Amendments to the law on the Bank of Russia come into force on 1 September 2025. According to them, the regulator grants administrators of financial and commodity indices access to the financial market and maintains the relevant register.
This regulation is aimed at raising confidence in the information necessary for concluding transactions in the financial and commodity markets as well as in the Russian industry of financial indices overall.
The entry into the register is voluntary. However, only indices listed in the register may be used in the regulations of the government authorities and the Bank of Russia.
