Interbank Currency Council of Bank of Russia and National Bank of Belarus holds meeting
The Interbank Currency Council of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus held its 61st meeting in Vitebsk (the Republic of Belarus).
The meeting was attended by Elvira Nabiullina, Bank of Russia Governor, Roman Golovchenko, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, and representatives of the two central banks.
The participants discussed the current economic situation and specifics of monetary policy pursued, issues concerning virtual assets regulation, development of banking services and new areas in banking, and also assessed the operation of banking systems.
Interbank Currency Council meetings represent a traditional forum for dialogue between top managers of the two central banks, which has been operating for over 25 years.
