Monitoring sectoral financial flows: growth in payments picks up in December

In December, the amount of incoming payments effected through the Bank of Russia increased by 9.3%, which is significantly higher than in the previous two months. As reported by all groups of industries, growth rates exceeded the usual seasonal readings.
The most noticeable increase was registered by investment demand industries: +20.2% vs the average level of 2024 Q3. Growth in incoming payments in December is typical for these industries due to the receipt of payments for works performed during the year. However, in 2024, it turned out to be higher than usual.
