Bank of Russia issues new commemorative coins
On 16 November 2018, the Bank of Russia issues commemorative silver coins.
A two-ruble coin dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of writer Alexander Solzhenitsyn will be issued in the Outstanding Personalities of Russia series. The reverse features a portrait of the writer against bookshelves with a sheet of paper bearing his signature on his right and a typewriter at the bottom. The mintage of the coin is 3 thousand pcs.
Also issued is a three-ruble coin ‘Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation’. It features the building of the Federation Council with its heraldic symbol against the coloured image of the Russian flag on its top. The mintage of the coin is 3 thousand pcs.
The Architectural Monuments of Russia series will be expanded with a three-ruble coin ‘Saint Vladimir’s Cathedral (the Admirals’ Burial Vault), the City of Sevastopol’. The mintage of the coin is 3 thousand pcs.
