New insurance rates for carriers
The Bank of Russia has set new rates in compulsory insurance of carriers’ third party liability for damage to passengers (CICL). From 3 August, the lower bound of the range of insurance rates for intercity bus, tourist water, helicopter, railway and sea transportation will decrease by 20%.
The relevant Bank of Russia ordinance was officially registered by the Ministry of Justice.
The document also sets CICL rates for taxis. From 1 September, the latter shall insure their liability for personal injury and damage to the property of the passengers, just as other carriers (except for the metro) do today. The price for a CICL policy for taxis calculated based on the Bank of Russia’s rates will range from ₽1,300 to ₽5,400 per year depending on carriers’ individual risks.
