Foreign share in credit institutions’ and insurers’ capital calculated
According to the Bank of Russia’s calculations, as of 1 January 2024, the foreign share in the aggregate authorised capital of credit institutions holding a banking licence totalled 6.95% (vs 8.97% as of 1 January 2023); in the aggregate authorised capital of insurance companies, it came in at 4.79% (vs 9.58% as of 1 January 2023). The Bank of Russia calculates and publishes this indicator on an annual basis in compliance with law.
Foreign investment calculated to measure the foreign share in the aggregate authorised capital of credit institutions amounted to ₽236.882 billion, with their aggregate authorised capital totalling ₽3,409.902 billion.
Foreign investment calculated to measure the foreign share in the aggregate authorised capital of insurance companies amounted to ₽11.529 billion, with their aggregate authorised capital totalling ₽240.718 billion.
