Banks restructure around 300,000 retail loans for ₽150 billion: results of 2023 Q4
Over the last three months of 2023, the demand for loan restructuring from individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) increased, which is typical for the end of the year. At the same time, entrepreneurs submitted significantly fewer applications for restructuring through the course of the year in general. This evidences that small and medium-sized businesses had adjusted to the existing conditions.
Banks restructured most of individuals’ debts in accordance with their own programmes. According to the laws on loan repayment holidays and mortgage repayment holidays, 15,000 loan agreements worth a total of ₽8.5 billion were amended in 2023 Q4.
Under agreements with SMEs, banks restructured around 5,500 loans worth almost ₽134 billion over 2023 Q4.
Moreover, banks granted loan repayment holidays to servicemen and their family members with respect to 31,000 loans worth ₽13.2 billion.
