Inflation expectations remain elevated in January

In January 2024, as shown by InFOM’s survey, households’ expectations about inflation in a year dropped to 12.7% (as compared to 14.2% in December), but remained elevated. Inflation expectations decreased among respondents both with and without savings.
Households’ long-term inflation expectations for five years ahead also declined to 9.8%. The propensity of respondents to consume increased. Companies’ price expectations went up and reached their highs since April 2022.
