History of Russia’s GDP publication restored by Bank of Russia researchers
Bank of Russia experts have collected vintage data on Russia’s GDP and its components. The outcomes of their work are presented in the released research. The dataset includes information on the revisions of nominal and actual quarterly indicators over the period from December 2005 to the present moment.
The paper also introduces a methodology for collecting historical data using the Wayback Machine service which makes it possible to find information even if the history of its publication is unavailable.
Starting from 2024, these data alongside the revisions of key macroeconomic indicators collected by Bank of Russia staff in other research papers will be updated every six months and published on the ‘Revisions of macroeconomic indicators’ page in the Research section.
