High consumer demand that allows sellers to gradually transfer increased costs into prices was the key inflation driver.
Prices for food products and non-food goods began to rise faster in annualised terms in almost all Russian regions. In October, there was growth in prices for a wide range of goods with meat products and cars being the main contributors to this process.
Prices for services were also rising at a faster pace in most regions mainly due to the fact that air travels and housing rents had become more expensive.
More details on inflation in each Russian region are available in the information and analytical materials published on the Bank of Russia website.
