Total portfolio of funds managed by NPFs and SFR exceeds 7.3 trillion rubles in 2023 Q2
In April—June 2023, pension reserves in non-governmental pension funds (NPFs) increased by 3.3%, while pension savings in NPFs grew by 2.8% compared to the first quarter. Similarly, pension savings managed by the Social Fund of Russia (SFR) increased by 2.2% during the same period. This was largely due to positive investment returns.
The profitability of the portfolio of pension savings held by NPFs has remained higher than that of the SFR since the beginning of the year. One of the reasons is the absence of shares which showed rapid growth in the second quarter in the state-held portfolio.
NPFs continued to increase their investments in OFZs and shares while reducing their investments in corporate bonds.
