Spring session of online financial literacy classes for elders ready to start
In the coming season, elderly people will know how to identify the most common scams used by fraudsters to get access to money of naive people. Also, they will know how to avoid getting lost in the variety of financial and banking products and choose the most appropriate ones, as well as how to do proper budgeting, to name but a few. These classes will help seniors be more confident in different finance-related situations.
It is planned to stream 100 webinars where the attendees will be able to address their questions to Bank of Russia specialists live.
The curriculum, connection instructions and teaching materials are available on the project’s website. The classes may be taken by groups, for instance, in the social service centres, and individually using personal computers, smartphones or tablets. The spring session will run until 21 April.
The Bank of Russia has been holding online financial literacy classes for elderly people in all Russian regions since 2020. The previous session in autumn 2022 collected more than 148,000 views.
Earlier, the regulator launched the spring session of online classes for schoolchildren which is scheduled to run until 21 April.
