Regional Economy report: companies continue to adapt to new business environment
The influence of external restrictions on economic activity persisted. Businesses continued to adapt, finding new counterparties and redirecting export supplies to the east.
Annual inflation is still on decline, but consumer prices went upwards in September compared to August. This is conditioned on a number of reasons. The effect of spring ruble appreciation was dissipating. This factor was hardly able to restrain price growth. Producer and supplier costs grew, and the imports of certain non-food goods and services contracted. At the same time, food price growth was curbed by the expanding supply of crop products.
Special topics of this issue are the preliminary outcome of the 2022 harvesting campaign and its effect on prices, as well as the situation in the credit and deposit markets amid easing monetary conditions.
