Regional Economy report: consumer prices decline on average in most macro-regions

8 September 2022
News

In July—August, annual inflation continued to slow down in most macro-regions. This was due to weak consumer demand for non-food goods and expanded supply of agricultural crops. Easing monetary conditions contributed to a rise in retail and corporate lending.

Exporters faced difficulties changing the geography of sales. Companies focusing on the domestic market restored their output owing to the arrangement of new supply chains. The new issue includes special topics — challenges of export redirection and reasons for lower economic activity.

More details are available in the new issue of the review Regional Economy: Commentaries by Bank of Russia Main Branches.
