Inflation speeds up in most Russian regions
24 March 2022
News
In February, annual inflation ranged from 5.2% in the Chukotka Autonomous Area to 11.8% in the Republic of Kalmykia.
During the most part of the month, the price dynamics, as before, formed under the impact of significant growth in demand for certain goods, cost pressure, and local factors. In the last days of February, after a sharp deterioration in external conditions, the weakening of the ruble and the rush demand for durable goods began to play the key role. The rapid growth of prices for them continued in the first ten days of March.
