Russian commemorative coins receive awards of prestigious international contest
Six commemorative coins issued by the Bank of Russia are among the winners of the 15th International Coin Contest ‘Coin Constellation—2021’.
Coin Constellation is one of the most respected coin contests in the world and the only one to take place in Russia. Its professional jury includes representatives of the largest museums, auction houses, numismatic societies, banks, and publishing houses specialising in coins from various countries.
This year, the competition had 220 coins presented by 31 participants from 22 countries.
The Commemorative Coin Dedicated to the Selfless Labour of Medical Worker’ was recognised as the Coin of the Year. The 75th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War of




The Polar Wolf coin of Protect Our World series was recognised as the second best in the Gold Coin of Year nomination.


The 175th Anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society coin was awarded as the second best in the Coin Classics nomination.


The 200th Anniversary of the Discovery of Antarctica by Russian Seamen Faddey Bellingshausen and Michail Lazarev took the third place in the Best Artistic Solution nomination.


The Creator of Russian Porcelain D. I. Vinogradov, the 300th Anniversary of his Birth (1720) coin of Outstanding Personalities of Russia series was awarded as the third best in the Original Technology nomination.


The Bank of Russia participates in the contest on a permanent basis. It is not the first time when its commemorative coins gained the Coin Constellation awards.
