Bank of Russia issues new commemorative coins
On 5 July 2017, the Bank of Russia issues four commemorative silver coins.
The Bank of Russia issues a silver proof coin in denomination of 2 rubles devoted to the 200th Anniversary of the birth of the painter I.K. Aivazovsky in the series “Outstanding Personalities of Russia”. The reverse side of the coin depicts a portrait of I.K. Aivazovsky against the background of a part of “The Ninth Wave” painting. The mintage of the coin is 3 thousand pcs.
The reverse side of the coin in denomination of 3 rubles depicts a relief image of the “Queen Louise” bridge in Sovetsk, Kaliningrad region. The coin will be issued in the series “Architectural Monuments of Russia” with the mintage of 3 thousand pcs.
The reverse side of the coin in denomination of 25 rubles bears the image of the “Tauric Chersonesos” state historical and archaeological museum and reserve. The mintage of the coin is 1 thousand pcs.
One more coin in denomination of 25 rubles will be issued in the series “Architectural Masterpieces of Russia”. The reverse side of the coin depicts relief images of a portrait of the architect Vincenzo Brenna and Mikhailovsky Palace in Saint Petersburg, and an image of a capital performed in colour. The mintage of the coin is 1 thousand pcs.
