FINOPOLIS-2017 announces call for applications for FinTech startup competition
The Bank of Russia has announced the call for applications for the FinTech startup competition. This is the second time that the competition will be held at FINOPOLIS-2017, a forum of innovative financial technologies.
The competition is looking for teams and high-tech projects offering innovative solutions in financial technology and developing electronic collaboration in the financial market. The event is organised by the Bank of Russia and FinTech Association with the support of Fintech Lab.
According to the competition rules, priority consideration will be given to projects offering innovative solutions in the following areas:
- remote identification of customers – financial market participants and digital identity management;
- application of distributed ledger technologies in financial products (services);
- creation of a high-tech retail payment environment;
- use of open APIs to expand the range of products (services) for financial market participants and their customers.
The application deadline is set for 17 September 2017. The competition committee will then select 12 most promising market-oriented projects. Finalists will have a chance to present their projects at FINOPOLIS-2017, the major fin-tech event in Russia, which will be held in Sochi on 4–6 October. Competition winners will also be selected at this platform. They will be awarded grants of 1 to 3 million rubles.
