Russian-Kazakhstan Subcommittee on Interbank and Investment Cooperation meeting
On 25 May 2017, Astrakhan hosted the 16th meeting of the Subcommittee on Interbank and Investment Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Bank of Russia and the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the two countries’ commercial bank and financial infrastructure executives.
The meeting agenda included items of practical importance to market players of the two countries’ financial markets; the partners used the event to exchange their operational experience in enacting and improving financial regulation. Also appearing among the items on the agenda items were prospects for cooperation in the exchange trade business and efforts to establish reinsurance operations in Russia, Kazakhstan and the Eurasian Economic Union.
The participants also discussed ongoing efforts to align national regulatory frameworks in the field of stock markets and rating agencies’ business, alongside steps needed to remove barriers in the operations of cross-border financial institutions.
