According to the information on financial flows, economic activity continued to expand in May. After April’s pause, industries focusing on consumer demand resumed an upward trend in payments in both trade and services.
Investment demand dynamics worsened slightly, which is most likely only temporary. Payments in export industries declined. However, in the next few months, the earlier rise in global prices for core Russian exports will support the dynamics of financial flows in export industries.
More details are available in the new issue of the review Monitoring of Sectoral Financial Flows.
