On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals

On July 30, 2018 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metal:

• Silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles “Centenary of the General V.F. Margelov Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne twice Red Banner Order of Suvorov Command School” (catalogue number 5111-0385, mintage 2,000 pcs).

• Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0386, mintage 10,000 pcs) and 25 Roubles (catalogue number 5115-0143, mintage 1,000 pcs) of the series “The Bicentenary of the Foundation of the Forwarding Agency of the State Paperstock”.
• Silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles “Tintoretto (Jacopo Robusti) creations” of the series “Treasury of World Culture” (catalogue number 5115-0144, mintage 1,000 pcs).

Description of the coins of precious metal:

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm) and silver proof coins in denomination of 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60.0 mm) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coins bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) and “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denominations of the coins “3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES), “25 РУБЛЕЙ” (25 ROUBLES) and the year “2018”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side:

• of the coin “Centenary of the General V.F. Margelov Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne twice Red Banner Order of Suvorov Command School” depicts a relief image of the graduation ceremony with a laser matted image of a cadet formation in the background. The inscriptions read: “РЯЗАНСКОЕ ГВАРДЕЙСКОЕ ВЫСШЕЕ ВОЗДУШНО-ДЕСАНТНОЕ КОМАНДНОЕ УЧИЛИЩЕ ИМЕНИ ГЕНЕРАЛА АРМИИ В.Ф. МАРГЕЛОВА” (GENERAL V.F. MARGELOV RYAZAN GUARDS HIGHER AIRBORNE TWICE RED BANNER ORDER OF SUVOROV COMMAND SCHOOL) along the circumference and “100 ЛЕТ” (100 YEARS) at the bottom in two lines.

• of the coin of the series “The Bicentenary of the Foundation of the Forwarding Agency of the State Paperstock” in denomination of 3 Roubles depicts a gold plated image of the modern emblem commemorating the 200th anniversary of the foundation of the Forwarding Agency of the State Paperstock with an image of the company’s logo from the year 1900 in the background. On the left there is a laser matted microtext composed of the repeated company name: “ЭКСПЕДИЦИЯ ЗАГОТОВЛЕНИЯ ГОСУДАРСТВЕННЫХ БУМАГ” (FORWARDING AGENCY OF THE STATE PAPERSTOCK).

• of the coin of the series “The Bicentenary of the Foundation of the Forwarding Agency of the State Paperstock” in denomination of 25 Roubles depicts a relief image of the façade of the Forwarding Agency building seen from the waterfront and a gold plated image of the modern emblem commemorating the 200th anniversary of the foundation of the Forwarding Agency of the State Paperstock above it. In the background there is a laser matted image of an assignation ruble note and a laser matted microtext composed of the repeated company name: “ЭКСПЕДИЦИЯ ЗАГОТОВЛЕНИЯ ГОСУДАРСТВЕННЫХ БУМАГ” (FORWARDING AGENCY OF THE STATE PAPERSTOCK).

• of the coin “Tintoretto (Jacopo Robusti) creations” depicts a fragment of the painting “Birth of St John the Baptist” with its central figures performed in color. At the top are the self-portrait of the painter and the inscription “ТИНТОРЕТТО” (TINTORETTO).

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
