The Bank of Russia has become signatory to the IOSCO Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding

On February 16th, 2015, the Bank of Russia signed the Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Consultation and Cooperation and the Exchange of Information (lOSCO MMoU).

The application of the Bank of Russia to join the IOSCO MMoU was approved on February 11th, 2015.

Thus the Bank of Russia has been included to Appendix A of the IOSCO MMoU and has become the 105th full participant of the information exchange with other financial market regulatory authorities, which are signatories to the IOSCO MMoU.

Joining the IOSCO MMoU enables the Bank of Russia to maintain effective interaction with IOSCO, which includes participation in the IOSCO committees and working groups activity. Adding to this, signing the IOSCO MMoU will contribute to the information exchange on the key issues of financial market regulation and oversight.

IOSCO MMoU was designed in 2002, aiming to promote information exchange among the securities regulators, holding IOSCO membership, as well as to counter malpractice in the financial market

Having more than 120 regulative authorities under its aegis, IOSCO is an international organization, which sets globally acknowledged standards of and approaches to securities market regulation.
