Obverse
the two-headed eagle (designed by I.Bilibin), the letters under it indicate the metal sign, the fineness, the mint trademark and the fine metal content. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «100 РУБЛЕЙ 1994 г.» (100 RUBLES 1994), at the bottom — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA).
Reverse
a sable sitting on a tree, in the background to the left - two wooden cabins and a cedar, to the righ - a bird perched on a branch of a fir-tree, the inscription along the rim: "СОХРАНИМ НАШ МИР" (PROTECT OUR WORLD).

The sable, an extremely quick animal with exquisite fur, lives in coniferous forests from the north of the Ural mountains to the Pacific ocean. Russians have hunted the sable, highly valued for its fur, since olden times and the animal is represented in the coat of arms of the old Russian cities of Irkutsk, Yakutsk and Verkhoturye.
